The event is held each year at the prestigious Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in Central London, just next to the Royal Albert Hall. A short walk from either South Kensington or Knightsbridge tube stations, the venue is a purpose-built lecture theatre that has hosted speeches for over 200 years, including famous names such as Dr David Livingstone, Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Sir Ernest Shackleton and Sir Edmund Hillary.
